Pricing

When we look at pricing landscape maintenance we have to first look at how the pieces fit together.

Duration of Services– Step One

On the west coast we run, 90% of the time, a ten-month season starting March 1st and ending December 31st of the calendar year. We find starting earlier, say February 1st, we can run into issues with being too cold and not having soil conditions to complete meaningful work. Also, depending on the landscape, most sites require some kind of clean-up work right through to the end of the calendar year.

Service Call Frequency – Step Two

How often do you require your landscape to be serviced? Here are a couple of items that may provide some guidance.

  • First, do you have turf grass? If you do and it is healthy turf grass, two weeks may be too infrequent for twice a month service call intervals.
  • Second, if you have a commercial or residential strata, two service calls per month may not offer enough clean and weed free days between service calls.

Ultimately it is your choice. We offer weekly service calls and twice a month service call plans as options. Only in rare situations would we entertain once a month maintenance service plans.

Month-to-Month or Contract – Step Three

How do we do business together? We can either go with a month-to-month arrangement or if you prefer a one to three year contract with fixed pricing in place for the duration of the contract. The big difference is Landscapia will only offer our Core4 basic services in a month to month arrangement with all other work being performed and invoiced as agreed on. This means spring cleanup, hedging, pruning……all extra work is billed at the time the work is completed and added to the current invoice. If you prefer to go with a one to three year commitment, we will itemize all services included in your SLA and your total yearly costs are averaged over the monthly invoices for that year.

STP: Simple Transparent Pricing – Step Four

Okay, we agree on duration, frequency and term, so how much is it going to cost! After many years of understanding what is really going on in landscape maintenance, it occurred to us that most services are completed at very similar rates for a given unit of measure. An example would be square meters of turf grass cut per minute with a 42 inch deck tractor or with a 21 inch walk behind mower. We will not offer public pricing for units of landscape maintenance service item sections or sub-sections. You will receive a detailed look at what your landscape looks like and how we determine your monthly cost. Is this totally transparent pricing? Mostly yes. We will add a general services fee that encompasses items such as logistics, our client density map, and other factors.
